Dear Lebanon School District Families,

As Superintendent, it is with great excitement and optimism that I welcome you to the 2025–2026 school year. I hope your summer was filled with rest, joy, and meaningful time with loved ones. As we prepare for the year ahead, I want to share with you our continued commitment to student success and the exciting ways we’re building upon our momentum from last year.

CONTINUING THE WORK OF OUR COMPREHENSIVE PLAN

Over the past year, we made meaningful strides in implementing our comprehensive plan, which focuses on supporting student achievement, well-being, and development. This year, we’re expanding that work, ensuring that every student in Lebanon feels known, supported, and challenged to reach their full potential.

STRENGTHENING STUDENT ATTENDANCE

We know that consistent attendance is one of the strongest indicators of academic success. In 2025–2026, we are deepening our efforts to promote regular attendance through proactive communication, targeted support, and community partnerships. We are committed to removing barriers that keep students from being present and engaged in their learning every day.

ELEVATING ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT

Core academic achievement remains a central focus of our mission. Our teachers are continuing to receive high-quality professional development and instructional resources that support excellence in literacy, mathematics, science, and social studies. Our goal is to ensure every student is challenged academically and supported every step of the way.

LIVING THE PORTRAIT OF A CEDAR

This year, we are proud to further integrate our Portrait of a Cedar into daily life across the district. This initiative defines the skills and qualities we believe all Lebanon graduates should embody—adaptability, communication, creativity, critical thinking, empathy, leadership, and personal responsibility. These attributes are essential for success in school, in careers, and in life beyond graduation. You will see this vision come to life in our classrooms, extracurriculars, and school culture.

DEEPENING FAMILY AND STUDENT ENGAGEMENT

We know that student success is a shared responsibility between schools and families. In the coming year, we will continue to offer opportunities for families to engage meaningfully with our schools—from family nights and community events to feedback sessions and volunteer opportunities. Your voice matters, and your partnership is key to helping our students thrive.

As we look ahead to this new school year, I want to thank you for your ongoing trust and support. It is truly a privilege to serve the students and families of Lebanon. Together, let’s make 2025–2026 a year of growth, connection, and achievement.

Warm regards,

Nicole L. Malinoski, Ed. D.
