Thank you for your interest in addressing the Lebanon School District School Board of Directors. If you wish to offer public comments during our board meetings, please follow the guidelines below:
Eligibility: District residents or taxpayers, anyone representing a group in the community or school district, any representative of a firm eligible to bid on materials or services solicited by the Board, any district employee, or any district student may participate in the public participation section of district board meetings.
Public Comments on a Specific Agenda Item: Individuals who have not applied to be placed on the agenda, but who wish to comment on a specific agenda item, may request to do so by completing a REQUEST TO ADDRESS THE BOARD FORM before the start of any meeting. Such comments, if allowed by the presiding officer, shall be limited to two (2) minutes.
Public Comments Requiring Additions to the Agenda: To present a public comment at a Board meeting that requires an addition to the board agenda, a written request must be submitted to the Superintendent of Schools via the Board Secretary at least four (4) days before a Board meeting.
The request shall contain the following information:
-
Name and address of the person(s) making the request.
-
Name of any group or organization being represented.
-
A brief synopsis of the information to be presented.
-
Specific question(s) to be asked or specific action(s) desired of the Board.
-
Copies of all written materials to be distributed at the meeting.
Participants must sign in to the meeting and be present for the entire meeting to address the Board. Participants must be recognized by the presiding officer and must preface
their comments with an announcement of their name, address, and group
affiliation if applicable. Participants will limit their remarks to three (3) minutes. The Board may or may not elect to respond.
Helpful Tips:
- If speaking as part of a group who shares the same interest, consider electing a spokesperson to speak on behalf of the group.
- Public comments are an opportunity to share thoughts with the board, but are not meant to be question and answer periods; please understand that the Board may not respond to comments or questions.
- Students and staff have privacy rights; please refrain from using identifying names or descriptions in public comments. We appreciate your commitment to the privacy of our students and staff.
