Lebanon, PA. The Lebanon School District will host a ground-breaking ceremony at Lebanon Intermediate School on Thursday, February 13, 2025. The ground-breaking marks the beginning of renovations to transform the former Lebanon Middle School into the highly anticipated home of 5th and 6th grade students.
Renovations at the Intermediate School will address a variety of areas, including reconfiguring classroom spaces, updating the auditorium and gym facilities, and repairing and replacing core mechanical systems. Additionally, renovations will address traffic concerns with the addition of a front-of-building traffic cutout and visitor parking, and bus drop-off lanes at the rear of the building. These renovations come on the heels of a full kitchen renovation, completed last year. The district renovations team includes the following partners: Fidevia, Beers + Hoffman Architecture, SESI Consulting Engineers, A.H. Moyer, Inc., Matchline Mechanical, and Lobar, Inc.
According to district superintendent, Dr. Nicole Malinoski, “… renovations will not only enhance our facilities but also enrich the educational experience of every student who walks through these doors. With improved spaces for learning, collaboration, and innovation, we are ensuring that our students have the tools they need to succeed.”
The Lebanon Intermediate School will house 5th and 6th grade students when renovations are complete. The building was constructed in 1937 and first served as Lebanon High School and later served students in grades 6th – 8th as Lebanon Middle School. The building’s last sweeping renovations occurred in 1992. The district looks forward to sharing the renovation journey on its website, www.lebanonsd.org.
