HENRY HOUCK Centennial

The Lebanon School District was founded in 1852 and has grown to eight buildings, serving over 5,300 students, and one of our schools is excited to be turning 100! Henry Houck Elementary School was established in 1925 and named to honor Mr. Henry Houck, a prominent Palmyra-native who had a significant impact on the educational systems of  Lebanon County and Pennsylvania-at-large.

Henry Houck Elementary was constructed in 1924, with 400 students attending the new school in September of 1925. The school originally served grades 1st through 6th. Today, the building serves 360 students in grades K-4 through 5th. In its history, the building has seen countless concerts, sporting events, celebrations and achievements that have made a significant difference in the community! We are proudest of the achievements made by our learning community – our staff, students and families – and know that this first 100-years is just the start of our legacy of excellence!

We invite you to celebrate with us all school year! Start by paging through some event photos from our celebration carnival and open house, below. Then, we ask that you celebrate with us by becoming involved in our learning community – subscribe to the superintendent’s monthly video, become a volunteer, or make a donation to the Cedar Foundation!  However you celebrate with us, we owe our success to our community! Cheers to this, and the next, 100-years!
