Spectator Behavior Expectations and Guidelines
 

The Lebanon School District promotes a safe, family-friendly environment at all athletic and extracurricular events. We join the PIAA in promoting good sportsmanship by student-athletes, coaches, and spectators. As we come together to support our athletes, let's remember to uphold the values of respect and sportsmanship. While we welcome your attendance, we also ask that you assist us in creating an enthusiastic and positive atmosphere as we work together to enrich our student-athletes experiences.  Disrespectful behavior toward coaches, student-athletes, officials, or administrators will not be tolerated. 

To ensure an enjoyable experience for all, we have the following reminders for all spectators: 

1. Any behavior that draws attention away from the players and the contest, including (but not limited to) inappropriate gestures, signs, cheers, and noisemakers, will not be tolerated.  This includes: 

  • Derogatory cheers, chants, songs, actions, or gestures directed toward opposing teams, fans,  cheerleaders, or officials, including pre and post-game events.
  • Any noisemaker, including sirens, whistles, and portable stereos are prohibited.
  • Any sign, including handheld signs, banners, handheld towels, or posters, cannot be displayed
  • Display of unsafe behavior that could threaten the health or safety of others is prohibited
  • The throwing of any object is prohibited.

2. The following items are prohibited on school property:

  • Possession of drugs, alcohol, smoking or vaping products.
  • Reasonable suspicion of recent alcohol and/or drug use.
  • Possession of weapons or dangerous devices that are prohibited by the district.
  • Bikes, scooters, and skateboards are not permitted inside our facilities or our outdoor facilities, such as the stadium. 
  • Backpacks and drawstring bags are not permitted at district events. All other bags, including diaper bags and purses, will be checked at entry by security staff.

3. To ensure the safety of our playing fields, only team members in uniform and/or warmups are permitted on the athletic fields. This includes before, during half-time, and after athletic events. 

4. For the safety of our youngest fans, all elementary, intermediate, and junior high school students must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. These students will only be allowed entry to district athletic events with a chaperoning parent/guardian.

If a spectator violates any of these items, the individual will forfeit admission and be escorted off district property with the assistance of school district police, security staff, and/or district administration. 

Let's work together to create an atmosphere where athletes can perform at their best, and everyone can enjoy the game.  We thank everyone who comes out to support our students and school, and we look forward to another great year in the Lebanon School District!
